24 weeks!

Well, the picture for this week is still a papaya (same as week 23) so I won't bother posting it again. Next week there will be a new picture though with bigger measurements!

How far along? 24 weeks.
Total weight gain:
Doing good so far, just not this week! Think my total so far is around 8 pounds.
Maternity clothes?
Yep. It will be a happy day when I can walk into J Crew again.
Sleep:
I fondly remember the nights that I could actually sleep and I miss them dearly. Now I wake up with tingly fingers, roll over every 30 or so minutes, and have the hubbies alarm start at 2:30.
Best moment this week:
laying on the couch with Anthony and watching my belly move where the baby kicked. ALSO Miranda brought me apple sweet tea from a BBQ place in Vegas. I think I have drank over half a gallon in the past day. mmmmmm
Movement:
getting stronger and stronger every day. I even felt him while I was walking around the museum today!
Gender:
boy!
Labor Signs:
none, thank god.
Belly Button in or out?
In.. I have a feeling (hoping) that it will remain in the entire time.
What I miss:
sleeping on my back!
What I am looking forward to:
The Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley concert and the air show this weekend!
Weekly Wisdom:
hell if I know!
Milestones:
We finally reached our V-DAY!!!! Viability day is when baby would have a chance at surviving if he chose to come out, but he better not plan on making an early escape! We are not nearly far enough along yet! I don't even have a nursery!

So I feel like my belly has grown the past week or maybe its just shaped differently now.

Baseball, Bodies & Slackers

I'm several days late for my "Week 24" post update... I had every intention on doing this Monday afternoon but I got sidetracked by my new Us Weekly magazine and an episode of Say Yes to the Dress. So now its Wednesday afternoon and I still haven't posted it :-) I do have a good excuse though! Our friends Miranda and Brent drove up from Vegas Tuesday afternoon to spend a few days with us. Of course the military had to screw with our plans and Anthony ended up having to work everyday, but we are managing to have a good time without him.

Last night we went to the Padres/Dodgers baseball game. It was a lot of fun besides sitting in the incredibly uncomfortable seats for 3 1/2 hours. The stadium was like 80% dodgers fans and everyone seemed really hyped up about the game.....well, the Dodgers let me down big time! They pretty much sucked all night.

Today me and Miranda went to the Bodies World exhibit. It was awesome! I had been to the smaller version in Vegas a few years back so I was excited to see this one. Its incredible what they are able to do and preserve. I read that it takes 1000 to 1500 man hours to make ONE of the posed pieces. The only part of the exhibit that I wasn't able to walk through was the part with baby bodies. I looked at the fetus up to week 8 but stopped looking after that. I will say though, with all the attention to detail that these bodies get, why is it that the toenails are disgusting! They had a couple of animals in the display, this is the capillaries/blood vessels of a chicken! I guess they pump them with silicone and then dip them in something that eats away everything but the silicone.

My very first DIY project!

After a few days of wanting to pull my hair out due to a bobbin "issue" (<--me being the issue) I was finally able to figure things out and was able to knock out several burp cloths! I'm rather proud of myself since I'm not a very crafty person by nature. The seams are far from perfect, but a good start!
Thanks to my mom for sending me home from Vegas with a sewing machine and plenty of fabric :-) Now if only I knew how to crochet I could make the ADORABLE beanie's that I keep finding on Etsy.
Now I'll have to try my hand at other cute baby items as well as fixing the holes in Anthony's cami's.

23 weeks!

Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

Our little man is growing so much! The kicks are finally getting a little stronger and happening much more often now. Today Anthony FINALLY felt a kick, his face expression was priceless.

I had my doctors appointment last week and everything was as normal as could be. Nice strong heartbeat and my uterus was measuring right on track. Creeps me out, but I just read that it is now the size of a basketball! A basketball.....and I still have 14 weeks left! I go in for another Gestational Diabetes test next week, I swear that my doctor is obsessed with it. I guess its better to be safe than sorry.

21 Weeks!

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are mostinterested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

I'm rather certain that I have finally felt movement these past 4 days as well. The little kicks are awesome and I am also starting to feel when he rolls over and such but only when I'm laying down flat with a pillow or something over my stomach. We tried the trick where you hold a flashlight up to your belly and the baby is supposed to squirm to the other side but nothing happened. Hopefully within the next week or so the movements become more regular and I can count on feeling them everyday. Anthony tries his hardest to feel them, but no luck yet!

I have been feeling great lately, finally getting some of my energy back. My only complaint is sleeping, or lack of. Its such a pain in the ass to roll over and have to then move my body pillow around and get comfortable all over again. I also wake up with numb hands, which is awkward. Ohh how I miss sleeping on my back.

I took my belly pictures in the same shirt as before so its easier to compare. I feel bigger, but I don't feel like I look all that much larger in the pictures.
