28 Weeks!

I know I know, I forgot to make a post for 27 weeks. I sorta had a busy week, and I just plain forgot.

On Thursday Kendra and I went to a taping of The Ellen show! It was so much fun...but INCREDIBLY tiring. We had to check in like 3 hours before showtime and you just sit in the parking garage that whole time, then you stand/sit in the lobby of the studio for like another 45 min, then you literally dance 25 minutes of the 1 hour taping. Add that on top of the 2 hour drive there and the 4 hour drive back (gotta love LA) my body was tired!
Then last night Anthony and I went to the Rodney Atkins, Lady Antebellum and Lost Trailers concert. It was a BLAST! Parking 1/2 mile away uphill was no fun afterwards, but I felt a better after a nice warm bath.

I'm excited for my baby shower in just a few short weeks. The invites have been mailed and I'm pretty sure that I have registered for everything that is needed at Babies R Us. I didn't register for any clothes because I figured people kinda just buy whatever clothes they want. All the necessities are on there though!

I completely forgot to update and say that I PASSED MY 3 HOUR GLUCOSE TEST! The day of the test pretty much sucked. Spending 3 1/2 hours in the lab with no WIFI or anything was pretty boring. I got home and ate and instantly felt like death. I laid in bed and passed out for about 4 hours and felt like a brand new person when I woke up. I was worried that feeling so bad afterwards was a bad sign that I was going to fail, but the nurse called and told me that my numbers were great! I'm also not anemic! YAY for still being able to eat yummy yummy sweets!

Anthony and I are finally 100% set on a baby name. As of now we aren't telling, but we are planning on it probably some time later this week or next week. It does start with a "C" though! The middle name is still up in the air as we cant agree.

According to my baby books and what I have read online the baby should be starting to flip now and have his head down. Baby C has not though, his kicks are still quite low. Today was fun though, it was kinda like he was playing a game with us. He would kick, then we would poke where he was kicking and he would kick at our fingers. It entertained us and kinda made our day.

I will be posting updated belly pics tomorrow, I couldn't motivate myself to do my hair today :-)

Oh, and how crazy is it to think that this baby will be full term in 64 days and my due date is only 85 days away!

BabyLegs

I have discovered this website and go to it daily debating about which leggings I want to order. How adorable are they!?! They keep the babies legs warm, make changing a diaper easier since there are no pants to take off, plus they are just too stinking cute! I have heard a rumor that some Targets carry these, but the one by my house doesn't.

Argyle and striped chunky baby legs......YES PLEASE :-)

Petunia Pickle Bottom

I am SOOOO happy with the great deal that I found! I received an email earlier this week saying that Petunia Pickle Bottom was having an outlet sale for their members. So I pre-registered and planned on purchasing the diaper bag that I really wanted, it was originally over $150 so I knew that I would get a good deal on it. The next morning I logged on at 8:06 (6 minutes after the sale started) and it was already sold out! I was a little bummed, but then I found the adorable "clutch" version of the diaper bags that they have. They are originally $90, but I got one for MUCH less than that and I have already received it in the mail. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Its much larger than I expected and is meant for "quick trips" and is large enough to hold several diapers, wipes and a onesie. Plus it has a large fold out changing pad. Too cute!

26 Weeks!

How far along? 26 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: about 13 pounds... yep, I gained 6 flipping pounds this month. I am NOT happy about it, but I cant take it back...
Maternity clothes? Of course. My shirts are getting shorter too and I'm hating it.
Stretch marks? sore subject with me.
Sleep: A distant memory.
Best moment this week: finding/buying the gown for the Marine Corps Ball
Movement: He is practicing his soccer kicks. My belly bounces like crazy
Food cravings: not surprisingly(for me) SWEETS.
Labor Signs: None. I was a little worried this weekend when he was extra quiet, but I guess he was having an off day.
Belly Button in or out? In, but far less shallow.
What I miss: ridiculously hot baths.
What I am looking forward to: being able to look for a new suv in a couple of months
Weekly Wisdom: don't eat a breakfast sandwich 30 minutes before your Gestational Diabetes test....you WILL fail.
Milestones: I'm only a week away from the 3rd trimester!

I had my regular appointment this morning and everything went really well. I need to add complex carbs to my diet for the next couple of days and then go in for my 3 hour glucose test on Friday. The heartbeat was nice and strong and my uterus is actually measuring a week ahead. I go back in 3 weeks (instead of 4) and after that I start my every 2 week appointments.
Time is flying by! Me and my good friend Kendra go the Ellen show next Thursday, which we are SUPER excited about. We will make sure to have our dancing shoes on :-) After that is the Marine Corps Birthday Ball and I was finally able to find a formal maternity gown that I love. Although I did end up having to spend a bit more than we had wanted to.

25W4D Belly Picture!

Anthony and I put the crib together this afternoon... even though we more than likely won't be in this house when the baby gets here. I got antsy with it just sitting in the room and wanted it to be put together. I feel a little more prepared now :-)
I feel like my belly has really grown! I know I have gained a few pounds this month (will find out how many on Tuesday) and its showing in my midsection, baby must be going through a growth spurt!

Ugh, not good news......

I got a call from the doctors office this morning letting me know that A: I failed my 1 hour glucose test and B: my hemoglobin level was kinda low so they think I may be anemic. They said the hemoglobin was right at the cut off so I need to do those tests again to see if I truly am anemic or if I was just having an off day.
I have to go on a 3 day diet next week and then on the 4th day fast for 12 hours and then go in for my 3 hour test. Lets hope that I pass the 3 hour test!

25 Weeks!

"Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes."

It scares the hell out of me that in 13 short weeks I will be full term. That's not that long from now! It donned on us the other day when we were sitting here talking about it, I'm sure it would have been hilarious to see our face
expressions at that very moment. I feel so behind, we don't even have our nursery started yet! Its kind of difficult since we don't know really know where we will be living.

I have looked into the classes that our hospital offers and am signing us up for classes starting in November. I'm for sure signing up for a Baby Care Basics class and also a breast feeding class. I would like to sign up for the Childbirth Prep class as well, but with Anthony's work schedule its not going to be easy to pull off since the class meets once a week for like 3 weeks.

I went in today for more blood work to test for anemia and also another Gestational Diabetes test. Keeping my fingers crossed that I pass this one as well and don't have to suffer through the 3 hour version. The glucola drink isn't too bad, just like an orange soda on crack. The trick is to chug the drink so the sweetness of it doesn't hit you while you still have half a bottle of it to go. I go to the doctor next Tuesday for a normal follow up. Should be the normal weight, pee and heartbeat...nothing too exciting. Not sure if they have the Swine Flu Vaccine in yet, and I'm also not sure if I'm going to get it.

I have pretty much finished my registry with Babies R Us, at least all of the main items are accounted for. There are a few things that I couldn't register for on there such as my diaper bag (because I'm a snob...no really) and also the car seat. I have found this diaper bag (or this one that will never happen)and LOVE it. So now I'm saving for it and will get it before baby boy gets here. If not, I have lots of big purses. I'm just not a standard diaper bag kind of girl, and since I'll be the one carrying it for 2 years I need to love it! The car seat that we want is the Maxi Cosi Mico in Phantom. This car seat is capable of snapping onto the stroller that my mom bought us which will make life easier. Babies R Us goes between being "Out of Stock" and "discontinued" for some reason though. Amazon.com, Nordstroms.com and a few other places have it all the time though so I don't know why BRU wont let me register for it.

How far along? 25 weeks.
Total weight gain: Not exactly sure. Ill update this (maybe) next week after my doctors appointment. Depends on how bad the news is!
Sleep: Now that its cold outside I am sleeping SO much better. We leave the windows and back door open and it stays nice and freezing all night long. I'm loving it.
Best moment this week: RELAXING and the hubby having a day off of work finally.
Movement: a ton. He is stubborn and already knows how to mess with his dads head. He will be kicking like crazy making my belly shake and as soon as Anthony puts his hand down on my belly he stops. Its kind of funny. He will normally start up again as Anthony talks to him.
What I miss: Drinking a nice cold Blue Moon while watching football. Wearing heels and not having my feet swell to the point where its just scary.
What I am looking forward to: Fishing this Friday. And Costco's chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese for dinner. The soup is incredible. We are HUGE fans of everything from Costco.

I'll post a new belly picture in the next couple of days.

Pickin Raspberries

We took a little road trip an hour away to Julian, CA. Its a small old mining town that really has nothing there! While we were there we went to a farm and picked our own fresh raspberries off the vine and then indulged in an incredible piece of pie from the Julian Pie Co. It may have been the best pie I have ever had.
