9/10 Week Appointment

Well, the nurse practitioner has changed my due date back to the original date of Jan 18th. I have a feeling that the doctor will change it again next time so really, all I can guarantee is that some time starting mid January there will be a baby.
After the exam she said that she was going to look for the LO's heartbeat and warned me that at this stage it is like 50/50 chance that it will be loud enough for her to find with the little machine. So she rubs the little microphone over my belly for a minute, then two minutes, then three and then she finally gives up. I think she could tell that I was visibly freaked out by this and offered to do another ultrasound! HECK YES! Ill take all the ultrasounds I can get! (Anthony insists that no, I cannot rent an ultrasound machine for the house...bummer) So we moved to another room and she preformed the ultrasound and our LO was in there waving its arms around and going crazy. Such a relief.
I would post a picture, but the quality of this photo is horrible and you really wouldn't be able to see anything. I will say though, that as of right now, our LO looks EXACTLY like an alien wearing rather large sunglasses. Lets hope the creepy alien stage doesn't last long.

Our doctor has also submitted the request for our NT scan which should take place in the next 2 weeks so expect lots of new ultrasound photos after that appointment!

Hello Fetus

Yesterday was a big day.

The little blob in my belly has now finished the embryonic stage and is into the fetal period.  There sure is a lot going on in my belly right now.  I can’t believe that it’s a real live fetus now. YAY little fetus!  Keep on growing!!

This week in the (soon to be) Bump: now that the baby is in the fetal period  you can begin to distinguish between male and female!. Also the "tail" that was present in the first few weeks is no longer visible, with the exception of a tailbone. Hormones are being produced and the baby's kidneys are now functioning!

Ugh...Clothes

I hate clothes! If you know me, then you know that those words coming out of my mouth is like a sin.  Isn't it enough that I can’t go shopping for cute clothes right now? Instead, I get to deal with bloat. Feeling like a stuffed sausage each morning I try and put my jeans on isn't a fun way to start the day.
I hate it.  It’s like that in between stage when you are trying to grow your hair out.  It’s too short to pull into a ponytail, but too long to style it cute as if it were short (my hair desperately needs highlights as well).  I know that it’s too early for me to start showing, so it’s bloat.  Oh, how I loath this lovely bloat.  It’s terrible. I'm down to 2 pair of jeans that I can comfortably wear. I now wear the rest of my jeans unbuttoned with my BellaBand (Target version) in place just praying that strangers walking by don't notice and wonder why in the world I'm walking around with my pants undone.  My jeans still fit fine everywhere else …what fun.

Dont bother me..... I'm growing eyelids

For days now I have been so incredibly unmotivated/tired/nauseous. Yea, yea I know this is all part of the joy of being pregnant, but I am so over the crappy part and ready for the fun exciting part! I guess with my uterus the size of a grapefruit I am bound to feel crappy now and then. Anthony has been working maybe 2 hours a day recently so it makes it so much easier for me to sleep and whine about nausea when he is here to listen and take the dog out... I'm a lucky girl :-)

Inside The (soon to be)Bump This Week: The LO (little one) is just under an inch in length and is about the size of a cherry! Eyelids will form this week and its fingers and toes are forming. Bones are forming and muscles can now contract!

Houston.... We have a Heartbeat!

Due to some fears of mine and a little scare we had our doctor had me come in several weeks before my scheduled appointment on the 24th.  I had an ultrasound preformed and we were able to confirm that the little on is in there (YAY!) but I am measuring about 6 days behind where I thought I was, so we werent able to see a heartbeat during that appointment. Was such a bummer to not see it!

But..... I went in for my follow up appointment this past Friday and there was a nice strong HB of 132!
Anthony and I are currently calling the baby our Blueberry due to its tiny size. The nick names will be updated as the baby grows :-)

My due date has been pushed back a week due to the babies size. My EDD is now January 24th.. Just 1 day before Anthony's birthday, 3 days before my brother Johns and 4 days before my moms! Someone is getting their birthday stolen :-)
